But first a quick production update…
Production of the school shorts is nearing completion, with orders starting to ship — keep an eye on your emails for tracking!
I’ll be posting another recap later this week, but just wanted to say a big thank you for all the support and patience on this drop. Orders will be reopening soon and will be available on a made-to-order basis. Since I’ve already got all the fabric, trims and tags on hand, I’ll be able to get garments made within 1–2 weeks, depending on workload.
Full-Time Creative
There was a lot of unknown and fear surrounding this decision. But I have full faith and belief in myself. I’ve spent many years waiting for the “right” time to act on certain ideas or thoughts. From experience, you end up waiting your whole life—because there never really is a “right moment.” Too many factors influence our judgment: money, society, personal beliefs.
Sometimes, you just need to act now—and think later.
I’m already seeing the benefits of this leap. My sewing skills aren’t just improving—they’re getting faster. My mind feels less cluttered and trapped by ideas, now that I have time to sample and explore them. I feel more joy in life, simply because I’m doing something I genuinely love.
At the end of the day, that’s the goal with all of this—to show you that it is possible to pursue something you care about. I know it’s not always easy to find that “thing,” but I encourage you to keep looking. Try new things, just for the sake of learning more about yourself.
I got my first sewing machine for my 18th birthday, fresh out of high school, with the idea of upcycling and hemming thrifted garments. That’s now spiralled into me manufacturing garments myself, with the help of 12 vintage industrial machines (I’ll make a video about them soon—just need to stop buying more, haha).
With that being said, go pursue your happiness.
Sincerely,
R
